Spradlin Flawless at Talladega

The Southern Superstars Racing League (SSRL) brought together thirty-four of the best super speedway drivers from across the map to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital in the ScreenThatPorch.com 200 at the Talladega Super Speedway. At a track where the top spot can be crucial to victory, it was Alabama’s Chase Spradlin cashing in on great pit work to keep his #75 out front of the field to win on Monday night. Spradlin led a race high thirty-six of the seventy-six laps completed on the high banks of the 2.66-mile track to take the win.

Though the race was slowed eleven times for forty-four laps of caution, the racing that took place under green was as intense as we’ve ever seen on RLMtv. The lead was swapped fifteen times between eight drivers. SSRL newcomer Jeff Brumback came home in second with Jeff Belt, Robert Baucom and Allen Marshall completing the top five. When all the dust settled, the SSRL drivers raised $640 for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and in a true sportsmanlike gesture, second place finisher Brumback donated his trophy to the Hospital, which helps in the aid of sick children.

The next event for RLMtv is February 7th when the CASCOR Series hits the race track for their season opener at Daytona. Until then, keep the hammer down and we’ll see you at the track!
