Isenhower receives the gift at ECT’s 2nd Annual Blizzard on the Beach

When we think of the holiday season, many different images come to mind – decorated trees, specials on primetime television, jolly snowmen, and lots of snow. But what about in Florida? All of those elements were present at Daytona International Speedway, as the whole track got into the spirit of the season at East Coast Thunder’s 2nd Annual Blizzard on the Beach. Complete with candy-striped walls, Christmas trees decorating the infield, and even snowmen and snow covering the grass, all the drivers were in the holiday spirit for the 100-lap dash around the very fast 2.5 miles. 29 drivers took the call, with only 18 finishing the race. And when everything was said and done, Chris Isenhower, paying homage to Frosty the Snowman, brought home the hardware at the second annual event hosted by ECT. Beaver, Pennsylvania’s own Ben Becze finished in a close second, with ECT’s own Pete Sindone rounding out the field in third place. The race ended on a yellow flag on the final lap, locking the field and securing the win for Isenhower. The highly competitive race, run in the Aero88 mod, saw 17 lead changes between ten different drivers, including ECT regulars Chuck McClure, Milt Matice, and Robby Nieces. Former winner and podium finisher Lee Helmer was expected to compete, but was unable to – running in his place in the #011 car was Wayne Quackenbush. The race was sponsored by U Need A Part at www.uneedapart.com and All American Auto Wreckers at www.allamericanautowreckers.com.
