The top sim drivers on the NASCAR Racing 2003 Simulation came together on January 2nd to contest the ninth annual DEI-Racing Commerative 500. Names like Larkin, Wilson, Bishop, Becze, Black, Hann and Jette all came to the virtual Talladega Super Speedway with the intent of winning the prestigious event and the cash prize to go with the victory. The NWO and DWI leagues ran their final race of the 2010 calendar year on RLMtv on December 30th at the Texas Motor Speedway and like many races we had seen in the previous months the drivers left us wanting more in 2011. Finishes at these types of tracks have provided exciting last lap passes and many two and three wide opportunities and with the talent that these two leagues bring to the track, nothing less was expected and was delivered in a big way. With 168 laps lead and 19 of 22 cars on the field lapped, Chris Ginn gave a clinic on how to race on a short track at the 1st Annual Southern Superstars Racing League Snowball Derby, sponsored by ScreenThatPorch.com. The event was hosted at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. Ginn, who came in on the pole, wasted no time running away with the lead, leading most of the opening laps and a total of 168 of 300. At a track based in a town known for its Stampede, Kentucky’s Allen Lewis won a rodeo of a Late Model 250 to claim the 2nd Annual Late Model Championship. Lewis, driving the #155 NOS Energy Drink/ParkerHammons.com Toyota started 3rd in the twenty-five car field and would lead a race high 138-lap en route to the victory. Lewis was chased most of the second half of the race by runner-up David Krikorian (Los Angeles, CA) while a wreck with six laps to go would promote Selden, New York’s Jeff Rogers to third, Justin McLeod (London, ON) to fourth and Marc Williams (Moncton, NB) to fifth. The third race of the Interleague Charity Racing’s 2009-10 campaign took the drivers to the Chicagoland Speedway this past Saturday night where NARL driver Eric Monaco (Charlotte, NC) outlasted a field of twenty to take the win. The race, which brought multiple leagues together from the NASCAR Racing 2003 Season platform raised over $400 for the Victory Junction Gang Camp, bringing the total to over $1000 between the three events ran at ICR. Just ask Joshua Moyers, who won the Southern Racing Online Championship race at Homestead Miami Speedway on Sunday, November 21. It was Goose Creek, South Carolina’s Luis Irizarry holding off many late charges by taking the checkers first on Wednesday night’s South Beach 160 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for Blazin’ Pedals. Irizarry started third in the twenty car field and led twenty laps in his third win this season. Bart Fuerstenberger (Cheyenne, WY) came home in the second place position ahead of Larry Galley (Newtown, PA), Ryan Tracey (Edgewood, MD) and Scott Tracey (Edgewood, MD). Continue reading
