Larkin takes Halloween Bash in Wild Finish

MRL Racing was back on the airwaves of RLMtv this past Saturday night for the conclusion of their 2010 Halloween Bash. Qualifying races were held prior to the main event and points were tallied making this event not only important to win in front of the RLMtv camera but gigantic for the handful of drivers who had a shot at the overall title.

Eighteen drivers took the green flag for the 60 lap event at the fictional Dragonnet Speedway. The fantasy track lays out to 2.5+ miles in length and with the swooping corners led to great two, three and sometimes four wide super speedway racing throughout the event. Dale Price started from the pole and would lead the most laps during the event as he was the leader at the line thirty-two times.

The event would only feature three cautions which set up lots of great side-by-side racing between the SK Modified cars. A caution in the second third of the race set up a fuel mileage dash to the finish of the event, which saw the lead pack come down pit road within the last ten laps. The likes of Price, Jeff Brumback and Chris Robertson sped on the entry of pit road, eliminating them from contention for the win. The fuel mileage game paid off for Larkin though as he led only four laps en route to the victory and the championship of the Halloween Bash!

League veteran Justin Wilson brought the #6 car home in second while Andy Watkins, Jon Moore and Luke Luttrell completed the top five. The race saw ten lead changes with six drivers taking time leading the field. For more information on MRL Racing, check out their website at MRLRacing.com.

Until next time, keep the hammer down and we’ll see you at the track.
